SHAPED CRYSTALS

Lapidary Artists, carve, facet, and polish into many forms, some purely decretive and others for crystal healing.


  • Crystal Eggs, useful to scan/ cleanse auras, easy to hold in massage or meditation, birthing of creative ideas and assists in fertility.
  • Cabochon, flat bottom and flat or domed top
  • Clusters, numerous crystals in a cluster. Cleansing of large areas. Brings group energies together, enhancing peace and harmony. Used for family and business. Cleansing of individual crystals / jewellery. Averts negative energy from computers.
  • Double terminated, (crystal having points at both ends) Radiates or absorbs energy at its extremities. Such crystals balance and integrate spirit and matter. Break old patterns and useful in treating addictions. Also helps to develop telepathy
  • Faceted, for a very smooth energy with directional flow.
  • Long pointed crystal, shaped wands / large natural, focus energy in a straight line in healing. It transmits energy or draws it off, depending which way its pointing.
  • Obelisk, From Egyptian sacred architecture. Said to generate an energy field similar to the human aura. In a room it creates a powerful focus and balancing effect on the chakra's and subtle bodies.
  • Octahedrons, both natural and man made exhibit the same properties. Increases and intensifies the properties of the stones.
  • Pyramids, creates a large energy field especially for a healing room or large area.
  • Tumbled, tumbled and polished for a smooth energy, often used in massage and meditation work.

  • Square crystals, consolidate energy
  • Toning Crystals, These are man made. Elongated crystals with one end rounded for massage and also for meditation. The other end keeps its natural termination.

Polished or rough stones have always been a personal choice. One is not stronger or better then the other. For included quartzes it is usually better to use polished crystals as the inclusion are made more visible by the polishing. Shaping crystals does not decrease it's energy but rather controls its directional flow. In the case of eggs and toning crystals it often makes an easer tool to work with. These two are strongly favoured by  Reflexologists.
Colour enhancement also effects the healing properties. Colour therapy  works in direct relation to the colour of the chakra. If the mineral has been enhanced with coppers (green), Manganese's (pink) etc. such as in the case of Brazilian agates then one must add the properties of these metals to the healing properties of the agates.
